The Twilight Soundtrack (Twilight OST) is the official music for the 2008 film Twilight. The soundtrack was chosen by music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas, whose most notable work has been on the series The O.C., Grey's Anatomy and Gossip Girl. The Twilight Original Soundtrack was released on November 4, 2008 by Patsavas' Chop Shop label, in conjunction with Atlantic Records. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, having sold about 165,000 copies in its first week of release, 29% of which were digital downloads. Twilight is the best-selling theatrical movie soundtrack in the United States since Chicago.

It was revealed early on by director, Catherine Hardwicke, that a song by the band Muse would be included on the film's soundtrack; that song being "Supermassive Black Hole". Since the movie's debut, it has been a well known fact that two songs from the movie were written and performed by Robert Pattinson, who plays the part of Edward Cullen. In the original release of the soundtrack, "Let Me Sign" was not included. It wasn't until the digital version was released on iTunes that this song was added. Even though she didn't sing any of the songs on the soundtrack, she did chose "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" by Iron & Wine to be included.

So, why this fanlisting? Honestly, I am not a big fan of Soundtracks. Why? mostly because I usually don't like enough songs from a certain movie to actually buy the Soundtrack. I generally think it's a waste of money -- why buy the whole OST when you can just go on iTunes and buy the single songs that you like?

The Twilight soundtrack is the first movie soundtrack that I had ever bought -- I love almost every song (not too big of a Linkin Park fan) and it was definitely worth it to me. My favorite are absolutely Full Moon, I Caught Myself, Eyes on Fire, Let Me Sign, and Flightless Bird, American Mouth, which is actually my ringtone! I really don't think that one song is out of place during the whole movie, including all of the songs by Carter Burwell (I ADORE THE TWILIGHT SCORE!!). He and Patsavas did an amazing job.

I cannot thank Kigi enough for letting me adopt this fanlisting in November of 2009. I genuinely love this soundtrack and I am so happy that I was chosen to adopt it. ♥
